Parisian Jazz Weekend 17th of July

17th July – SOLD OUT

6pm until approx. 11.30pm

This summer we are hosting a joyful jazz weekend to bring a bit of Parisian nightlife to Dorset! Two nights of live music, great French food, fine wine and themed film – each night with a slightly different flavour.

The films will be shown outdoors, weather permitting, with comfortable seating, fire pits, lanterns and candles adding to the ambience.  Our licensed bar will be available throughout the evening, serving French red, rose and white wines plus champagne, beer and after-dinner coffees.

Saturday 17th July

Music from Les Tzigauners  –  Lively Parisian swing jazz from the 30’s & 40’s with numbers by Django Reinhardt, Stéphane Grappelli and their contemporaries.

Film: Midnight in Paris     2011     1hr 40min

A quirky romantic comedy which takes us back to Paris in the 1930’s where we meet the writers, artists and larger than life characters who inhabited the city’s bars & nightclubs.  Starring Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Marion Cotillard, and Kathy Bates.  Very atmospheric, with a great score.

Preceded by excerpts from Jacques Tati’s classic comedy, Mon Oncle

6pm Welcome botanical cocktail and wander round gardens
7pm Dinner served in bistro or outside bistro if weather permits
9pm Short Film
Dusk Main showing of film in bistro garden (director’s chairs and picnic tables)
