Landscape Painting Workshop

An Introduction to Painting Foliage & Landscape
If you have always wanted to paint but never found the time (or perhaps the confidence) to give it a try, then this day workshop is the perfect introduction. Or if you already paint but would like to explore a new approach, then joining this course could lead you to discover a new creative direction.
Led by Tara Harland Viney, a locally based artist and experienced tutor, you will be encouraged to find your own style in the relaxed and beautiful grounds of Keyneston Mill.
The day will start with a brief introduction to the estate before you settle in the location of your choice. Tara will be on hand, helping you to select colours, simplify forms and discover different methods of approaching landscape painting in your chosen setting.
There will also be plenty of opportunity to discuss how other artists approach the landscape, and Tara will bring books and examples of work to illustrate what can be achieved.
You will be using acrylic paint on primed paper, which is an excellent medium as it gives you the opportunity to produce good results in a relatively short time.
Materials will be provided but participants are asked to bring their own brushes. If you do not already have some, a student set is ideal, and we can advise you further if required. Please wear suitable clothing, and bring an apron if you wish.
TIMINGS: arrive 9.45 for 10am start – ends approx. 3.30pm
