Garden Photography Workshop
“Connecting with Nature through Photography”
Suitable for all abilities and with no special equipment required, this workshop will be run by a professional photographer, Lucy Shergold, with an emphasis on taking images that capture the essence of a beautiful garden.
Gardens such as Keyneston have layers of interest, key focal points and hidden treasures. There is a wealth of subject material to explore, incredible vistas, layers of rich colours and texture, beautifully curated planting in every section of the garden, not to mention the wildlife and the glorious River Stour.
This workshop will give you exclusive access to the garden before the doors are open to the public, giving you the chance to capture its beauty at the time of day when the light is at its most captivating.
You will have the time to slow down, listen, look and notice the garden in all its glory. Lucy will help you to find and photograph images that personally appeal to you. It may be capturing close-up, macro shots of flowers and plants, or for some, creating a painterly image using the layers of colour and movement produced by the different flowers and foliage or it may be the wide-open vistas of the garden and its far-reaching backdrop of the Dorset countryside.
Learning how to use natural light in a variety of different ways, you will also look at composition, and Lucy will give you tips on camera settings, angles and how to give your images a focal point. You will come away with images you love and will want to print and frame.
Please bring whatever equipment you usually use whether it be a smartphone, a DSLR or anything in between.
