The Scented World of Keyneston Mill
Keyneston Mill is the creative and experimental home of Parterre Fragrances. Uniquely, we grow, harvest and distil the key ingredients for our luxury perfumes on this 50-acre estate, dedicated solely to aromatic and scented plants – over 1500 varieties are currently in cultivation. The formal Gardens, Estate, Perfume Exhibition, Bistro-Café and Gift Shop are open year-round.
About The Gardens
Keyneston Mill Botanic Gardens lie in the Tarrant Valley, bordered by the River Stour. The formal Collection Gardens have been designed in “compartments” each featuring plants from a different perfume family for example Floral, Fougere (Fern), Spice and Citrus. Colourful and beautifully scented, these gardens are also practical trial beds where unusual varieties are grown and distilled in small batches.
Workshops & Tours
Our popular workshops unveil the secrets behind the history of perfume and its creation. You can even go away with a fragrance you have blended yourself. Join us for a Behind The Scenes Tour and learn how we go about creating oils for perfume from seed to bottle and discover some of the experimental plants we grow, harvest and distil to make our perfumes – with behind the scenes glimpses of the work underway
